Went to Chiang Mai, Thailand with my mother and sister from 4 to 7 August 2009..
Blogger is sort of disorganised in Firefox, thus not posting any pictures but posting links to the Facebook photos albums instead.
Day One
Reached Chiang Mai International Airport at about 11.30AM, GMT +7(Singapore Time: 12.30PM).
Then proceed on from there to Chiang Rai.
Had my first meal and drink in one of the pitstop in between. And it is damn cheap compared back home. A bottled Pepsi cost 20Baht and a plate of pork rice costs about 40Baht.
Then proceed on after which to a temple which is white in color with a lot of mirror to make it look bling bling. Wah, my eyes really damn painful after the tour.
Then, on to the next place, which is the Long-Necked tribe. Walked around first and saw many kids. Decided then to run back to the vehicles and grabbed the sweets that I had bought to distribute to those kids in the tribe. Basically, they just ran to you when they saw you holding sweets or candies. Wah, first time do this type of things, quite lovely to see them loving those candies or sweets which sometimes, we still want to choose the more expensive and the better ones.
We, then, proceed to check in and have dinner at one of the restaurant. No chance to take picture, because it was a group trip with other people joining.
Then proceed to the night market and bought some stuff there..
Day Two
We, then, went to the Golden Triangle, where the three countries, Myanmar, Thailand and Laos, meet. And the guide offered us an optional tour of either visiting Myanmar or Laos for 1200Baht and 400Baht respectively. The group took the Laos tour for some reasons.
Visited an island of Laos and the goods there is the same as what we can find in Thailand so end up I only get a drink and a fake coin which seems real to me at the time of purchase haha..
Back to the jetty where we took the boat ride to Laos. We then proceed to have lunch.
After which, took the ride back to Chiang Mai. About 3 hours long.
And reached Chiang Mai, we have a buffet dinner. Not really quite a good one but still can. Then, we are given free and easy time to tour in the Night Market there.
Day Three
We went to the Elephant Camp first.
Because it was not part of the itinerary, we have to pay for it. 300Baht for the entrance and 300Baht for the ride. My sister and I decided to take ride.
After the ride, we went to watch the Elephant show which was quite interesting as they performed..
We then went to the Hill Tribe to take a tour. Many many flowers there and even got Poppy. haha. But it was grown under strict supervision and only for educational purposes, not for commercial haha..
After that, we went to Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep, a very famous temple in Chiang Mai on the top of a mountain.
Then, after which, we went for lunch and proceed on to those standardise factory tour if you take up packaged tour usually. Quite boring lah, only the Honey factory visit was the most interesting for me because they taught us how to check for 100% pure honey.
Then, back to Hotel before heading out for Khan Toke dinner. After which, free and easy time..
Day Four
Initally, my mother decided not to go to their wet market. But then, in the morning, she wake me up and ask me to go with her and my sister. After breakfast, I checked with the reception on what is the market name. They wrote it for me in a paper and ask me to hand to the tuk tuk driver. My mother wanted to buy a type of corn which can only be found in Chiang Mai. End up, I got a chance to visit their wet market with a sleepy look.
Seriously, thanks to my mom, I get to see a real wet market haha. Because, many of the things they sell there, like chicken and fishes are all still alive!! In Singapore, where can you find all this commonly haha.. Then, we could not find it at the first market, the Tuk Tuk driver brought us to another market which we also cannot find. But still, it was a good experience. The trip like this costs us only 140Baht, which I give 150Baht to him. Really a different type of life!!
Then, my mom and sister went back to hotel. After that, I went to get MacDonald's breakfast and headed back to hotel to watch TV with them before heading to the Airport.
SGD$1 = 23.3 Baht
I spend about 3825 Baht there in total.
Quite a good trip, but maybe going back to the Wat Phrathat Doi Suthep temple again only. Might do a Bangkok trip with that temple trip as an option haha..

Went with Ga Yan to take the Tiger Sky Tower in Sentosa using complimentary tickets from Asia Pacific Breweries (Singapore) PTE LTD on Friday after class.
It's complimentary because I took part in their online quiz last month, if I never recalled wrongly.
Here's the roving cabin when it is on its way up to its highest point..

This is Ga Yan!
Us, taking a shot together, ready to ascend up!
Merlion and her!
Total ride journey is about 15 minutes. This was quite interesting as it stays at the top for some time before descending, thus allow for more viewing time on the time before coming back down.
Anyone want to go? I still have two more tickets left!! haha

Went to Singapore Flyer for a S$10 student promo ride with my classmates yesterday..
I am glad, this is another successful one I had organised haha. But still, the idea is not put up by me. I only execute it. Nevertheless, I am still looking forward to a few more before the same patterns repeat itself again. I think, during this three years of education, it is fated to see the pattern repeat itself 6 times haha. But then, either you cherish now or it will be too late..
Now, I am looking forward to my Friday's date with someone lol!! Hope nothing goes wrong!!!
Alright, some pictures..

Went to Johor Bahru again on 11 July 2009 to eat breakfast and lunch before heading to work.
Main purpose of this trip is to try the best otak in JB @ Jalan Storey.
I don't really find it good to my taste lah, but, it depends on your taste bud loh. Click here to find out more about it...
Think is RM0.60 per stick. We ordered about 20 sticks of it and inclusive of other food like fishballs, nasi lemaks, etc for the three of us.

Then we head to Meldrum Walk, which is around City Square that area, for a late morning walk. Usually, don't have the chance to take a walk around that area because when we are there it's about quite late already. And that day, was one of the earliest timing, I am in JB loh haha. The other was the trip to Kluang via KTM. But that time, did not have the chance to walk around at that timing because the train leaves JB Station at around 9am plus.
Then we went to eat Ya Wang, 鸭王, at Jalan Segget there, with the distinctive big roast duck at the shop front, about few metres long.
Can't really remember how much it costs us, but it was around the range of RM38 to 40 I guess.

Then, decided to head back to Singapore, so I will not be late for work. But not before dropping by at the Guardian Pharmacy to purchase a retro thermometer at RM6.50.

I only bought the Alcohol Thermometer. The digital one is bought long long time ago. Just for comparison only lol.. haha
That's it.

Suddenly, there is a thought of getting an iPhone 3GS from Singtel.
My contract with M1 ends like don't know how many months ago already, so just thinking why not port my number to Singtel and get an iPhone loh.
But then hor, I read up on some reviews about warranty claims in Singapore lah. Don't know what Liquid thingy indicator will turn red, as caused by the humidity here lah. Then no more warranty liao loh. This one makes me think whether I should get one or not leh. Heng, yesterday night, never impulse go reserved one, if not have to buy liao because need to pay S$50 to reserve!
Now I am still thinking!!
hmm, get it or not?
